LoudType Privacy Policy
Effective August 15, 2026
LoudType is designed to work without an account, advertising, analytics, or tracking. The developer does not collect, sell, or use your personal data for advertising.
Messages and saved signs
Your current message, preferences, and saved signs are stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, saved signs are stored in your private iCloud database so they can sync across your devices. Message text is placed in encrypted CloudKit fields. Apple operates iCloud under its own terms and privacy policy.
Voice input
LoudType requests microphone and Speech Recognition access only when you choose voice input. When on-device recognition is available, speech is processed on your device. Otherwise, audio may be sent to Apple for speech recognition. LoudType does not save audio recordings.
Apple Watch, Siri, and Shortcuts
Commands you initiate may pass between your paired devices or through Apple system services in order to perform the requested action. LoudType does not operate a developer analytics or message server.
Backups and deletion
Your device backup may include LoudType app data according to your Apple backup settings. Optional iCloud sync is separate from device backup. You can delete saved signs in the app, disable iCloud sync, remove LoudType data through Apple’s iCloud settings, or delete the app. Exported .loudtype files remain wherever you save or share them until you delete them.
Support
If you voluntarily submit a public support request, GitHub processes the information you provide. Do not include private message text. You can open a support request or return to LoudType Support.
Changes
This policy may be updated when LoudType’s features or legal requirements change. The effective date above will identify the current version.
